Cascade

Description

"Sonnenclair!"

The child struggled in her grasp, forcing them both to inch closer and closer to the eye of the cyclone that whipped water and stones around them. She was screaming the creature's name over and over, a last plea for attention. A shrill noise to break Sonnenclair's focus.

"Child," Nana said sharply in the girl's ear, unable to tear her eyes away from the destruction pulling them closer. "She is too far gone for saving. I think it might be best if we-"

But Iyani would not listen. "No!" she wailed, lifting her hand first to block out the bright light, then to reach for the creature floating above them. "No, I know she can still hear me!" And she resumed her shouting once more, completely ignoring any of the elf's demands for retreat.

Nana planted her foot and tried to push back, tried to lift the little girl from her feet, but found herself rooted in place; her body no longer responding to her thoughts. A chill shot through her chest and she felt the hollowness of panic settle in its wake.

They were too close.

Mild content warning for gratuitous blood usage.

I've wanted to draw something from Pitiful Creatures for a while and now I can finally say that I have. Sonnenclair's cascade is one of my favorite scenes to work on, so drawing it was the easiest choice.

This painting took me... an insane amount of time in PS elements...6? I think, spread out over three-ish weeks.
It still needs some work, but this is about as done as it's going to get for the time being. I might go back in a few weeks and update it, but for now. This is the finish product.

Sonnenclair, Iyani Akir, and Belnanllyn Peldreze are all mine and I sorely wish I did more with them to post here. XP
